When to use a invoice
Use an invoice to request payment for completed work or an agreed billing milestone. Start fresh or carry the customer and item list forward from a work order or service report.
What should it include?
Include a unique invoice number, issue and due dates, customer billing address, job reference, itemized charges, tax, discounts, amount paid and payment instructions.
Where it fits in the workflow
An invoice requests payment; a receipt confirms payment received. Record payments manually in this version. The balance due is the invoice total minus the amount paid.
A few useful answers
Can I record a deposit or partial payment?
Yes. Enter it under Amount paid. The remaining balance is calculated immediately, and any overpayment is shown as a credit.
Can customers pay through Contractor Job Tools?
This version does not process payments. Add your own payment instructions to the invoice and send the downloaded PDF using your usual channel.
Where are my documents saved?
Only in this browser on this device. Clearing browser data deletes local drafts. Download PDFs you need to keep, and avoid shared devices for private customer information.
